Aviation Industry Association Awards – 2026 Service IQ Industry Awards for Aviation Engineering
Sponsored by ServiceIQ
Category Description
This award recognises an individual or organisation working in aircraft maintenance engineering who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and a strong commitment to professional excellence within the New Zealand aviation industry.
For individuals, this award acknowledges the successful completion of the New Zealand ServiceIQ Aircraft Maintenance Engineering training pathway, including workplace-based practical training, competency assessments, and the achievement of prescribed Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Unit Standards. It also recognises individuals who have entered the aviation maintenance profession through related engineering disciplines and have demonstrated exceptional dedication by pursuing self-directed learning, successfully completing NZCAA licensing examinations administered through ASPEQ, and accumulating the practical workplace experience required to achieve Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) status.
For organisations, this award recognises a business or institution that has gone above and beyond in championing the development of skilled aircraft maintenance engineers — through investment in training pathways, mentorship programmes, or a demonstrable culture of professional development that supports individuals in achieving recognised qualifications and LAME status.
Nominees will have demonstrated technical competence, professionalism, and a commitment to aviation safety through the attainment of aircraft maintenance qualifications, licence categories, aircraft type ratings, and industry-recognised competencies. Their achievement reflects the knowledge, skill, perseverance, and integrity required to uphold the highest standards of aircraft maintenance and airworthiness, and represents a significant milestone in their professional journey and a meaningful contribution to the future of New Zealand aviation engineering.
Nominations closes 31 July 2026
