On Newstalk ZB, AIANZ Chief Executive Simon Wallace highlighted that levies imposed by the Civil Aviation Authority and Airways Corporation now make up around 10% of some airfares.
He said the Government could provide short‑term relief on these charges, which would ease pressure on airlines and help lower costs for travellers—especially in regions dependent on reliable air services.
